Whether you know it or not, you are being fought over. By companies. By politicians. By the agricultural business. By advertising agencies and consulting firms. By colleges, stores, banks, and even religious institutions.

 

Hi. My name is Kelsey. I am a writer striving to expose social and environmental issues through poetry, essays, tweets, updates, and anything else people will read. I hope that everyone who reads, views, or shares my writing walks away knowing that they have a choice and the power to learn more about how each purchase, smile, handshake, conversation, and social media post can spread a message worth spreading.

 

Are you still reading? Well, what else is there to tell you? ​I am an undergraduate student attending Grand Valley State University with a major in Writing and a minor in English. As a young writer, I am exploring creative outlets by reading extensively the works of great writers who came before me, as well as contemporary writers: Carl Sandburg, William Faulkner, Naomi Shihab Nye, Lawrence Ferlinghetti, and Mary Oliver. In these writers’ works flow themes of nature, environmental justice, social change and transformation. I strive to achieve these themes and techniques in my own work.
